The INDIE SPOTlight welcomes Linzé Brandon, a multi book author/publisher. So take a moment and get to know
Teaching herself to read before she went to school, it was the start of her life long love affair with books. Trained as an engineer, Linzé has worked as an export consultant and is presently a project manager at a company that designs and manufactures products for the military industry. Although she still loves to read, she also enjoys counted stitch embroidery, archery, fly fishing, painting abstracts, her husband’s medal winning photographs and watching Manchester United play.
She is one of the moderators of the Google+ group, Writer’s Rabbit Hole, and leads the Pretoria Writers Group, who can boast of having four published authors of various genres.
Linzé Brandon lives in Pretoria, South Africa, with her engineer husband and German Shepherds who are convinced that the world revolves only around them.

The Third Gender Series (Sci-fi Romance)
Perfection. How I hated that word although it described me perfectly. That it also described more than half of the rest of the population didn’t bother me in the slightest.
I grew up knowing that my future had an added uncertainty that many other people didn’t have: my gender. Neither male nor female and with my thirtieth birthday looming, my life was in drastic need of something beyond the potential I was born with.
I don’t care much for the fact that the genetic manipulation long ago to save the human race on Earth, had limited my options of a loving relationship.
You see, I am in love with someone fe/male like me, and there was no chance that such a relationship was possible. Or was there?

It was definitely not her week. Her uncle had been murdered, her life had been threatened, an old school friend had re-appeared, she had two body guards and a new home. Elizabeth L’Emery was not having a good time as the new owner and chief executive of the largest fabric manufacturer on Xa’an.
Randall Storm had missed his best friend from school, but he had so many secrets that staying away from her had seemed to be the only solution to keep her safe from the uncontrollable lust for blood of his dragon half. But when he was assigned to her protection detail, he didn’t want to be anywhere else.
As they search for ways to control his magic that didn’t enslave him – and didn’t kill her – more threats came to try and pull them apart. When the opportunity arises to put a weapon of incredible power into her hands, Elizabeth has to decide if the violence of the blood ritual would be worth the sacrifice of becoming the Keeper of the Dragon Sword.
Attacks, magic and sword battles ensue as they continue to fight for her life but in the end it might come down to the ultimate sacrifice of the dragon to keep his vow to serve his master with his life.
Was their partnership strong enough to survive the choice of enslavement to prevent a war against their people or a ritual that could kill the woman he loved?

So now we’re to the Q & A part so let’s see what makes this author tick!
Q: How long have you been writing?
A: I started writing in 2001. That first story will need to be completely rewritten if I ever want to publish it. The male lead is a photographer, and he was still using film!
WP: Looking forward to reading it after you’re finished!
Q: What or who inspired you to write?
A: I cannot say it was one person or an event that got me writing, but probably a whole series of experiences. I have always been creative, painting and cross-stitching, so I think it was the right time for me to apply myself to writing.
WP: I truly enjoy gifted people using all their talents.
Q: If you wrote “out of your genre” what genre would it be?
A: Murder mysteries with an amateur sleuth as the lead. I have tried it for NaNoWriMo in 2012 and made a real hash of the plot – I killed almost all the characters! Still want to try it again, but next time I need to figure out a plot where there are still suspects left 🙂
WP: Good idea!
Q: Do you have to think hard about your story or can you just grab the idea and go with it?
A: I have got so many ideas in my head, it is sometimes hard to keep track of all of them. I do write them down, so that I don’t forget, but some stories keep bugging me until I write them down. The hard work comes in, when I start writing and then find out that I wrote myself into a corner, and have figure out how to fix it.
WP: Happens to many writers I’m sure, even myself occasionally.
Q: What interferes with your writing if anything?
A: Real life! I can’t wait for the day that I can retire and do all the things I want.
WP: Don’t we all!
Q: Most Authors have a favorite writer which they tend to mentor on, whose yours?
A: I don’t have a specific author, but I love Nalini Singh and Maya Banks’ books. Aside from loving the stories, I have learned a lot from both of them. I love the way Nalini creates paranormal worlds and Maya writes about the relationships between her characters, friends and lovers.
WP: Two great author’s there.
Q: How many books have you written and published so far?
A: I have written four books, two science fiction romances and two fantasy romances. The fantasy books are part of a series, where I hope to publish number three in April next year.
WP: You’re a busy woman!
Q: Do you plan sequels to your book(s)?
A: I write stand alone books that form part of a series. My characters don’t stop “living” at the end of a book, but their story is told in its entirety in one book.
WP: Many authors do this. It seems to be more well read this way.
Q: When can we expect your next great writing work?
A: My next book is a contemporary erotic romance to be published in August, if I can get all the final edits worked in on time.
WP: We’ll be looking for it!
Q: What describes you best as a person, not a writer?
A: I am not afraid of change and have embraced it several times in my life.
WP: Good for you. Nothing keeps a great writer down I say!
Q: Do you have specific rituals you do to get ready to start writing?
A: No, and I probably should. Sometimes I sit down and write for hours, other times it is difficult to get started, not because I don’t know what to write, but there are many distractions around. The only time when I truly focus, and shut out the distractions, is during Nanowrimo. But I plan for that and warn my husband in advance that he is going to live on take-aways and wear wrinkled shirts during November!
WP: You are hilarious also I see!
Q: Any advice can you give others on writing to make their experience better?
A: Have a place and time set aside to write everyday. Shut the door, unplug the internet, go to a quiet coffee shop, whatever works best for your situation. Even if it is only a few words each day, but write, write, write!
WP: I totally agree! Great advise!
Q: What do you want your readers to know most about you or NOT want them to know?
A: I can keep a secret, so I am not telling 🙂
WP: Secrets are a good thing….
Q: In ending, tell us one thing you want everyone to know about your book and why it’s a great read.
A: My books are about great characters and the struggles and obstacles they have to overcome in their lives. It maybe science fiction, or fantasy, but true love does not come easy in any world, real or fantastical!
WP: Amen to that statement!
