The INDIE SPOTLight

Welcome to the INDIE SPOTlight! Today I’m hosting Kobsupang Robertson!!! Kobsupang Robertson is going to fill our heads with everything  about Howard & Chloe Go to Bunnyland!

Howard & Chloe Go to Bunnyland

So let’s get to know the author of Howard & Chloe!

Q: How long have you been writing?

A: I have been writing for years as a hobby, but Howard & Chloe Go to Bunnyland is my first children’s book.

Q: What or who inspired you to write?

A: I have admired J.K. Rowling since I first read Harry Potter, but my husband and mother are the two people whom constantly reminded me that I could write a children’s book. I also have to give credit to this Ragamuffin cat named Howard because his cuteness and unique personality  inspired me to write Howard & Chloe Go to Bunnyland.

Q: If you wrote “out of your genre” what genre would it be?

A: This is a tough question since I love reading and I have a lot of favorites. I want to write adventure teen novels or maybe a thriller/horror book. I really can’t decide yet.

Q: Do you have to think hard about your story or can you just grab the idea and go with it?

A: I think hard and I love to do some research before I start writing, but at times I add new ideas to it as well.

Q: What interferes with your writing if anything?

A: I love multi-tasking so at times this is my worst enemy because I have to really stay focused while writing. I started writing Howard & Chloe Go to Bunnyland in early 2012, and it had to be edited over and over because I kept getting new ideas!

Q: Most Authors have a favorite writer which they tend to mentor on, whose yours?

A: I love J.K. Rowling and Suzanne Collins. If I could have them as my mentors, I would definitely have the best experience.

Q: How many books have you written and published so far?

A: Howard & Chloe Go to Bunnyland is my first published book. However, I already had ideas for my next one.

Q: Do you plan sequels to your book(s)?

A: Yes! I planned to write the 2nd book, maybe later this year. I’m focusing on promoting Howard & Chloe Go to Bunnyland for now and it’s been a great experience so far.

Q: When can we expect your next great writing work?

A: I have been promoting my book since early this year and I have a few projects related to this book. For example, my husband and I are hosting a book drive for children in Bryant Park in a couple weeks! I hope that I can start writing later this year, but I already have a plot for my second book. J

Q: What describes you best as a person, not a writer?

A: Caring, driven, funny, and hard-working. I like to goof around a lot and I think this personality come in handy and a great tool to help me write a children’s book.

Q: Do you have specific rituals you do to get ready to start writing?

A: I don’t have specific rituals. I actually wrote Howard & Chloe from my iPhone, then iPad and finished it on my laptop. What I’m trying to say is that I can write anywhere if I’m in the mood or have a new idea!

Q: Any advice can you give others on writing to make their experience better?

A: I think everyone can write, but writing a great book is not easy. First of all, you have to believe that you can deliver a great story! Work hard and research because there are a lot of great stories out there and you need to make yours stand out.

Q: What do you want your readers to know most about you or NOT want them to know?

A: I am a fun, hard-working, motivated and very passionate. I am also a fast learner and possess “I can do” attitude! I believe that I can make the impossible possible if I work hard enough and don’t give up.

Q: In ending, tell us one thing you want everyone to know about your book and why it’s a great read.

A: Howard & Chloe Go to Bunnyland is a children’s book about a smart Ragdoll cat named Howard, and Chloe the rabbit who is the new member of the family. These characters leave their home in Park Slope, Brooklyn to go search for Bunnyland in Manhattan. Not only do they go on adventure in the Big Apple, they also have obstacles ahead of them. I recommend children and parents to check this story out as it’s a fun story. I think children could be engaged and learn some morals after reading this story.
